Content Manager, AMI | Nairobi, Kenya

The African Management Initiative’s vision is an Africa transformed by 1 million African managers and entrepreneurs performing effectively and responsibly by 2023.

We leverage technology to deliver accessible, locally relevant and practical management education to managers and entrepreneurs across Africa, and to foster online and offline communities of lifelong learning, practice and accountability.

AMI is hiring a Content Manager who will report directly to the Chief Product Officer and be responsible for the overall management of the content production process, including both project management and production support roles on behalf of AMI. The CM will also have a role in supporting the social media marketing and community engagement in partnership with the CPO, CEO and support roles within AMI. 


Content Development | Manage the content development process, including overall project management, production support, quality assurance and publishing final content within a learning platform.

Project Management | Management of content production and promotion processes

Production Support | Support of experts/lecturers through content production process, including training, and digital media production and editing.

Quality Assurance | Responsible for initial quality assurance of content assets – completion to standard, audio editing and management of quality assurance process.

Partnerships | Day to day management of the content development partnerships, including direct relationships with subject matter experts and supporting staff and an external digital media company.

Marketing & Social Media | Support AMI team (CEO, CPO, support staff) in execution of social media marketing strategies.

Community Engagement & Support | Support to AMI team in community engagement and support. Monitoring learning platform activities, initiating debates and discussions, moderating content.


Project Management | Develops project plans, coordinates projects, completes projects on time and on budget. Create and maintain sequencing of projects, prioritization and multi-tasking. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills. Identify bottlenecks, problem solve and deliver to tight deadlines.

Digital Media Production | Knowledge of design software (excellent presentation software skills, graphic design software (Adobe)). Ability to create visual representations of concepts. Ability to grasp new technology quickly. Familiar with key social media platforms and tools.

Communication | Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Personal | Motivated, self-starter, independent worker.

Education and Experience:

-  Bachelor Degree in communications, marketing, digital media or related field. Significant experience will be considered in lieu of degree level qualification

-  Experience in project management an asset

- Experience in marketing and design an asset
