Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Conducting of in-depth analysis of textual data using qualitative techniques

Assisting in the planning and deployment of media events to disseminate results

Writing of academic papers in academic journal articles, book chapters, blogs, and project reports

Presenting of research results at conferences and media events


  • A degree in one of the social sciences
  • Experience in social science research in Development Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Communications or related disciplines
  • Training in qualitative research methodology, practical experience in relating methodology to research goals
  • Experience with quantitative research methods and ability to use SPSS, STATA or related statistical packages
  • Ability to work flexibly, prioritising workload to meet given deadlines and maintain a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Interpersonal skills relevant to working with colleagues as part of a team at iHub Research
  • Very strong analytical skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in keeping up with the social and political climate of the country
  • Abreast with academic and industry knowledge of machine learning, data mining and natural language processes
  • Eloquent speaker
