Position: Digital Engagement and Innovation Consultant

Digital Opportunity Trust Kenya is looking for a consultant who could take over the digital engagement and innovation strategy

DOT is looking for someone who has international experience (that's a must). The candidate should be based in Nairobi. This is a part time consultancy role (cca 12-15 days monthly) for a year period.

Roles and responsibilities:

1. Lead IT client engagements and ensure needs of the partners are translated into DOT program objectives

2. Consult on strategy to engage IT corporations that can add value to DOT programs

3. Oversee IT stakeholders relations and ensure needs or the partners are in line with DOT program direction

4. Promote a strong user focused ethos within the team supported by appropriate systems and infrastructure.

5. Identify, cultivate, and engage stakeholders who share DOT belief in applying business solutions to social problems

6. Identify ways of adding value to DOT IT partners through alignment seeking other areas of ICT synergy

7. Strongly promote innovation in DOT Kenya team and develop the team through professional development, attending industry and ICT sector events which keep them at the forefront of their specialist areas.

8. Where opportunities exist, seek external funding to advance innovation

9. To support DOT Kenya Country director in developing a strong performance culture and promoting DOT values

The ideal candidate should have:

  1. 5 years of experience with an exceptional track record in strategic partnerships or business development for a top corporation, international NGO or development contractor;

  2. 5+ years of experience of successfully managing complex stakeholder relations

  3. Good understanding of the major components of supporting ICT program delivery in Kenya;

  4. Must understand IT product development from technical and business perspective

  5. Excellent quantitative, analytic, and problem solving skills

  6. Experience working in emerging markets with culturally diverse teams, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa;

  7. Experience running IT related business or NGO

  8. Demonstrated success generating new business;

  9. Entrepreneurial, with demonstrated success building and leading new ventures; proven ability to communicate effectively and inspire leaders in large, complex organizations;
