Mozilla Kenya Hackjam (Hack Jam)Anyone

Summer Code Campaign aims to bring together individuals who are good at coding or have some skills with any coding language or skill i.e HTML, html5, php... you name them... and people who have no idea what coding is all about or even if they do, then probably they want to learn a new skill or add to what they have, now that's what COOL is, if you ask me! We aim to build the next generation of webmakers!

So here's the plan, the Summer Code Party launches on the 23rd of June. Mozilla Kenya, will be kicking of it's Campaign on
the same date by holding a series of Hackjams at the iHub here in Nairobi!


We'll be having a lot to share with those who want to learn ranging from simple Hacking Tools built by Mozilla to building stuff on the web using latest skills as html5!


Nokia HackathonAnyone

Nokia is calling on all Qt developers for the biggest hack-fest this side of the Limpopo. 100 developers will be put in a room for 48 hrs. to come up with the best Qt apps this nation has ever seen. The best app will win Kshs 1 Million at the end of the Hackathon.

This event is on invite only and registration close on the 14th of June.
The Nokia Hack will be held at the 88MPH, Human IPO start up garage, Piedmont Plaza, 4th floor. It starts on the 23rd of June and ends on the 24th of June.
Certificates of participation will be issued and the winning apps will have trophies.

Robotics BootCamp 2nd EditionAnyone

This Boot Camp is a follow-up event after the successfully inaugural Robotics Boot Camp that was held on 21st April at iHub as part of the NASA International SpaceApps Challenge.

The iHub Robotics Programme aims to come up with innovations and solutions in robotics and embedded system design as well as in vision and sensory control. The objective of the programme is  to design and develop robotics components as well as individual components for these systems.The long term team goal is to nurture a community of developers and techies working in the field of robotics, artificial intelligence and continually develop skills for the participants.

The challenge during the second edition of the Robotics Bootcamp is to develop a traffic monitoring system that integrates the use of image processing and pattern recognition systems of vehicles on Kenyan roads.

ANIC classifies digital as tools or strategies that use the Internet, mobile platforms, data driven journalism, digitally augmented reality, or other electronic means to improve the relevance and impact of news media.
