August Data Science Meet-up

iHub Research would like to invite you to our monthly data science meet-up this Friday, 8th August 2014 at 5pm. This month we have an exciting group of speakers and their projects lined up for you including:

  • Ishuah Kariuki from Spatial Collective on Building Tools for Data Capture.
  • Nguru Mugendi from Kenya Tweets will presents on their methodology for social media tracking and their latest report on social media numbers in Kenya.

Further, iHub Research has been running a data science jam with two up and coming data science students over the past 6 weeks. These students learnt the foundational data science concepts in an experiential manner, based on tackling data issues in existing projects by and within startups and projects.August’s data science meet-up will also double up as an opportunity for our students to showcase their work over the past six weeks on two exciting projects.

We hold these meet-ups monthly to provide a space for awesome people like you to meet each other, get to know what data science projects are going on and create new opportunities in this space. At the core of iHub’s mission is to support start-ups, surface information and connect people. What better way to do this than to host you at our space once every month to share ideas in an informal setting, with food and drinks :)

The meet-up will be held on at the iHub Research space on 2nd Floor, Bishop Magua Building, Ngong Road .
