Apply now for the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield
Guest blog by Samantha O’Keefe
Wanna make your way to Silicon Valley?
The Battlefield is the premiere startup launch competition, hosted by TechCrunch. If selected, companies will pitch on-stage in front of some of the biggest names in tech. Last year, our judges included partners from Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Founder Collective and SV Angel. Companies also receive coaching from TechCrunch staff, a free booth in a highlighted section of Startup-Alley, invites to our VIP events, TC swag and potentially, $50K and the Disrupt Cup. Applications are open now through June 23rd. (Deadline has been extended)
So who qualifies to participate? See our event page for full details of the rules. You could think of it a bit like patent rules that look for novel, non-obvious and useful ideas. Now, we’re in no way as strict as the US patent office but in general, we’re looking for early-stage companies who have something new and unique to launch.
This usually means releasing your product for the first time (could be into private beta), but occasionally we have companies coming out of private beta, releasing in the U.S. or Europe for the first time etc.
TechCrunch is open to all types of companies, from developer tools to hardware devices, core computing technology to mobile e-commerce apps. We even occasionally 3D-print makeup.
There is no fee, equity or otherwise to participate.
