Call for Applications – Learn how to develop Native Android Apps with Intel
m:lab East Africa in partnership with Intel will conduct a Deep Dive Android training from 26th May 2014 covering basic to advanced concepts on Android including the Native Development Kit – NDK (NDK is a toolset that allows you to implement parts of your app using native-code languages such as C and C++).
The course will also include Entrepreneurship concepts for mobile applications. After the initial class contact hours, trainers will offer coaching and support for attendees to complete and publish applications.
The training will have daytime and evening options available for interested participants. Evening sessions will run from the 26th May – 11th July 2014 whereas a full time course will run from the 26th May – 4th July.
Individuals with experience in Android or J2ME with apps published in the respective global app stores are encouraged to apply for the course to boost their skills. Additionally, programming knowledge in C/C++ is also an added advantage to applicants.
Developers enrolled in the training will be expected to work on at least one NDK-based android application project to be completed and published in a global application store such as Samsung Apps store or Google Play store.
Participants will pay a commitment fee of Kshs 3,000. In both categories, Kshs 2,000 of the commitment fees will be refunded upon completion of course milestones.
