Inviting tech entrepreneurs in an entrepreneurship research project by GSMA & iHub Research
iHub Research and GSMA would like to invite entrepreneurs in Kenya working on scalable mobile and/or ICT innovations to participate in an ongoing entrepreneurship research project. The research aims to understand the barriers faced by Kenyan entrepreneurs developing and scaling mobile and tech startups, with a focus on what could catalyse growth in the sector and create better engagement within the wider ecosystem, which includes mobile network operators, investors, tech incubators, and others. This research is being conducted in Kenya to start with, given the attention Nairobi has received as an emerging hotspot of innovation; and is expected to lead to a range of initiatives that will support entrepreneurs in building their businesses. This research study will not only focus on entrepreneurs in Nairobi and those based in the hubs but also entrepreneurs in other locations such as Kisumu, Eldoret and Mombasa and those that are based within and out of hubs.
We would therefore like to invite entrepreneurs who meet the criteria of working on scalable mobile and/or ICT innovations to participate in a short interview by registering their ventures on this link. The deadline for registration is 30th July.
Entrepreneurs who will be selected for the interviews and focus group discussions will also have an opportunity to be listed on GSMA’s MDI (Mobile for Development Intelligence) portal, which is accessed by thousands of visitors worldwide every month. Through the interviews and focus group discussions, we hope to learn more about your venture, the lessons you’ve learned along the way, and what resources could have helped you accelerate development of your business.
