Who is Jean-Philippe?

Jean-Philippe Courtois leads global sales, marketing and services for Microsoft International, a territory that spans 100+ subsidiaries operating in 240+ countries outside the United States and Canada. As president of Microsoft International, Courtois drives strategic planning, global operations and key growth initiatives in developed and emerging markets.

As a global technology leader, Microsoft is dedicated to serving citizens, businesses and communities around the world. Courtois’ leadership reflects these values and his deep personal commitment to customer and partner satisfaction, which results from long-term and trust-based relationships.

In recognition of this leadership, and his prominent role in the development of Europe’s software industry, Jean-Philippe was appointed as an Ambassador for the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009. In 2011, he was also named as one of the Wall Street Journal Europe’s “Top Tech 25.” His full biography is publicly available here.

Jean-Philippe has a 27-year history with the company – joining the French subsidiary in 1984 and going on to lead the business, before moving to an EMEA role and now a global role. He is among the 25-50 longest serving employees in the company which also gives him a unique perspective on how the company and the technology industry have evolved, and what are the key trends that will impact business and society in the future.

He will be at the iHub on Tuesday the 4th of June from 4.15pm to 5.45pm to speak to developers, students and bloggers on Microsoft’s plans to grow the developer ecosystem and its various partnerships.
