Africa Innovation Web Hubs Gathering

Web Gathering uses virtual space on the internet as meeting and conference venues. Presenters can deliver their speech live on video, run slideshow presentations, use interactive whiteboards, share their desktops and documents and take and answer questions from delegates through interactive feedback during their sessions. Delegates are able to access the conference from anywhere in the world and can do this at any time through a web browser.

The next Africa Innovation Web Hubs gathering takes place on 17th July 2012 at 2pm (UK time). The themes of the meeting are operating models and funding streams. This will be a good opportunity to engage with audience from other hubs in Africa and exchange ideas and opinions. The presenters for this event are from Co-Creation Hub in Nigeria, The Silicon Cape Initiative in South Africa and Iceaddis in Ethiopia.

Anne W. Salim studies the growth of African mobile-based education with a focus on the sustainable use of technologies in schools. Anne is currently a researcher at iHub, where she leads the program on M-Governance. The study has focused on the role of mobile devices for enhancing transparency in governance of the water sector. Anne studied Business Information Technology from Strathmore University and her interests include applying Design Thinking processes to Kenya, as well as facilitating Hackathon events.
