Date: 5th July 2012 (Thursday)
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: iHub Research
The primary aim of the workshop is to:
Engage the different stakeholders involved in governance under the Kenyan water sector–Government, Tech community, Civil society, residents from various areas, e.g. Kibera slums and NGOs in order to identify and discuss current interactions between the stakeholders in Kenyan water sector;
Understand how the governance components of: Transparency, Service delivery and Citizen Participation have been applied in the current operations of the different governance agents in the water sector;
Discuss governance issues around managing water access and use in various location sites;
Identify the ‘potential’ use of technology via mobile applications/platforms through interactions and feedback with the citizens towards understanding governance for sustainable urban & rural water development.
In this workshop, we will share our initial findings from previous studies and existing applications in the water sector to get stakeholders feedback and how they see themselves engaging in such initiatives.
The secondary aim is to spur discussions and interactions that are interactive, leading to a more sustainable approach in our mobile governance research.
