Global Voices set to visit the *iHub_
Global Voices is a community of more than 500 bloggers and translators around the world who work together to bring you reports from blogs and citizen media everywhere, with emphasis on voices that are not ordinarily heard in international mainstream media. Millions of people are blogging, podcasting, and uploading photos, videos, and information across the globe, but unless you know where to look, it can be difficult to find respected and credible voices. Their international team of volunteer authors and part-time editors are active participants in the blogospheres they write about on Global Voices.
Global Voices convenes a biennial Summit which brings together contributing members with a wider community of global bloggers, technologists, scholars, journalists and others interested in sharing ideas on developments in online citizen media spearheaded by people around the world. This year’s Global Voices Summit will be held in Nairobi on July 2nd to July 3rd.
A diverse cross-section of the Global Voices community from around the world (attendees of the Summit) will be visiting the iHub on Sunday July 1st from 2 – 4 p.m. They wish to connect with local “do-ers” from the iHub community in an afternoon of informally connecting and networking. It will be a great opportunity to strengthen the ties between our two communities. Interested? Kindly RSVP on the Eventbrite page here.
