Joseph Mucheru is currently the Regional Lead for Google in Sub Saharan Africa, Nairobi for Google since June    2007.  He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Wananchi Group Limited (also known as  Wananchi Online Limited). He commenced career as an Analyst and Administrator at the department   of Transport, Marsham Street in London, UK from 1991 to 1992, served as MIS and Communications Manager of Radopath (UK) Limited from 1994 to 1997, as Webmaster of Inter-Connect Limited in Nairobi , a position held For one Year before ascending to the Technical and Product Development Manager in 1998, served with Wananchi Online in 1999 as the Chief Technology Officer.

He served as a Director of Wananchi Online Limited and Chairman of the Technical and Business Committee of Fastlane Limited and Telecommunications Association of Kenya (TESPOK).

Joe holds BSc. Joint Economics and Computer Science (Hons) from City University, Northampton Square, London and is graduate from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
