Drupal 7 release party at *iHub_
The release of Drupal 7 will be celebrated around the globe on the same day: January 7 2011. The party will take many forms; from large commercially funded parties to livingroom bring-your-own parties: the fun is everywhere. Be sure not to miss the Nairobi Drupal 7 release party. Kenyan Drupalists will be meeting at the iHub on Friday 7th January at 6pm to share, learn and show some Kenyan love to the Drupal community.
Drupal is an open source content management platform powering millions of websites and applications. It’s built, used, and supported by an active and diverse community of people around the world. It is a free software package that allows anyone to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content on a website. Hundreds of thousands of people and organizations are using Drupal to power an endless variety of sites. Some of the more dynamic websites powered by Drupal can be found here
Drupal 7 has been under development for two and a half years of development by over hundreds of contributors. It is finally ready and the community is ready proudly present Drupal 7: the best version of Drupal yet. With a refined and more intuitive user interface and hundreds of enhancements under the hood, Drupal has never been more powerful.
The release party is an opportunity for Kenyan Drupalists to meet face to face, swap tips, and get inspiration for their next Drupal projects, making friends along the way. Hopefully, they will initiate a local Drupal user group that can be meeting regularly to learn together and build the profile of Drupal among web technology users in Nairobi.
