well I do agree with you that there is need for innovation , lets not correlate ideas to success. It is always said that the big breakthroughs or success were 'accidental' meaning that they did not emanate from an idea(or a great one), but they were a byproduct of constant work, iteration and focus on the right problems of-course.

For new technologies to be developed as you've said, what Kenyan Techies need to embrace is the is the 'customer development' and continuous learning philosophy, where they actually get out of the building and translate their ideas into minimum products so that they can start learning about customers and get the momentum flowing( after all tech is about data and measurement) and hopefully somewhere along the road they will stumble on a great opportunity and insight.

Everybody has ideas but what differentiates 'true' entrepreneurs is their ability to strip down the grand vision into small doable, manageable parts that leads to tangible success and results ,one step at a time and hopefully these are the kind of people that iHUB will attract and nurture.

So true. Kenyans have proven themselves time and again in recent years and hav shown real capacity to match the best in the world.Fact is that there are many more brilliant tech inclined minds in industry and varsities, and i hub provides the perfect forum for a great new society and amazing ideas and solutions. To me its the tap that coverts this enormous potetial from a steady drip into a sustained gush that will take the world by surprise.
